MACEDONIAN PAVILION RECEIVES FIVE AWARDS AT CARASSAUGA FESTIVAL 2006!

One of the 25 participants at this year’s Carassauga Festival was the Macedonia Pavilion represented by St. Ilija Macedonian Orthodox Church of Mississauga. The festival, established by Mississauga’s Mayor Hazel McCallion in 1985, was created to promote understanding, respect and co-operation among all Canadians of different heritage.

This was the first year for a Macedonian Pavilion to participate at the Carassauga Festival and the committee led by Chairman Tome Arsovski, are to be congratulated for their outstanding achievements. At the banquet held on June 23rd, the St. Ilija Macedonian Orthodox Church was proudly recognized for its valuable contribution to the community and received the following five (5) awards:
1. 1st place - History and Geography
2. 1st place - Food preparation
3. 1st place - Entertainment
4. 2nd place - Cultural Ambience and Décor
5. 2nd place - Over-all Quality

The Committee of the Macedonian Pavilion:
