Twinning Agreement between Kisela Voda, Macedonia and the Town of Markham

The Municipality of Kisela Voda, Macedonia and the Town of Markham signed a twinning and economic co-operation agreement on May 15, 2006. The document was signed by Dzordze Arsov, Mayor of Kisela Voda and Donald Cousins, Mayor of Markham.
Mayor Cousins was accompanied by Deputy Mayor Frank Scarpitty and a number of Ward Councillors, while Mayor Dzordze Arsov was accompanied by the president of the municipal council Miroslav Tasevski, Toni Cupovski, his Beatitude Archbishop Stephan of Macedonia, Bishop Methody and Father Trajko Boseovski. The occasion was also witnessed by Lui Temelkovski – First Macedonian MP in Canada, Macedonian Ambassador Sasho Nasev and Macedonian Consul Branko Trajkovski.

Following the signing both Mayors commented on the agreement.
“I look forward to a lasting cooperation with the Town of Markham in local self-government especially in the areas of the economy, education and culture. I truly believe the twinning will be realized through concrete projects that will be of benefit to both municipalities” - expressed Dzordze Arsov. Stated Don Cousins, “The Town of Markham is one of the wealthiest municipalities in the GTA and I expect we’ll have good cooperation with Kisela Voda. We would particularly like to help local development through the growth of the economy, and cooperation in culture and education”.
